It’s Holy Week, when we pause to remember Christ’s suffering on our behalf. It’s easy for our faith to feel complicated and confusing. We all wrestle with things we don’t fully understand and things we doubt. Most of us, I suspect, are overwhelmed with trying to get God. Trying to understand Jesus. But during Holy Week leading to Easter Sunday we are invited to remember and rest in the mystery: Jesus Christ, Son of God, died to save all of us. We’re saved by Him. Not what we understand about it and not what we think he means, but Him. We can take a break from trying to get God and rejoice in the blessed mystery of His coming to get us.
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” -Romans 5:6 (KJV)
