Good afternoon and a blessed Holy Week to you all! This Easter Sunday we will celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death. It’s the best and most life-changing news the world will ever hear. Our readings for Sunday will be: Jeremiah 31:1-6; Colossians 3:1-4; Matthew 28:1-10. The prophet Jeremiah announces that God, because of his “everlasting love” for His people, will restore their broken lives with singing, dancing, and a new season of planting. St. Paul, in Colossians, reminds us to keep our relationship with Christ the top priority in life. And Matthew recounts for us the now familiar story of how the women arrived on Easter morning to find an empty tomb.

St. Paul once said that if Jesus hadn’t risen from the dead our faith would be worthless. The corollary to that statement is that since Jesus has been raised from the dead our faith in him is priceless. Easter injects hope into every hopeless situation. Easter eases our fear of death. Easter gives us reason to smile and thank God every day. Hope. Comfort. Joy. These things are priceless.
