Parents, please remember that the school children K-8 will be singing for

St. John’s anniversary service on Sunday, October 26th at 9:00 A.M. If

you are planning to stay for the luncheon, you will need to RSVP at St.

John’s church office.


A number of people from St. Paul have been

distracted while driving to and from school

and have driven by a parked bus while it is

loading or unloading! Please be very aware

of school buses as they have young children

who will be crossing the street after disembarking. It is the law to stop, but more

importantly, we want to keep all of our children safe from accidents. Thank

you for your future diligence in this matter.


We are feeding a pen of pigs again this winter for anyone interested in some pork for the freezer. We will sell halves or whole hogs. They should be ready sometime in January. We will deliver to the locker of choice as we have multiple pigs going to justify the trip, or we can deliver to you if you prefer to butcher them yourselves. Last year we took everything to Milligan’s House of Meats. Processing ranged from around $0.70/# up to about $1.00/# depending on whether they wanted seasoned sausage or any curing. We are pricing the hogs at $1.25/# carcass weight delivered to the locker, so you should end up with $2-2.25/# for fresh quality pork. We will work with anyone wanting to butcher their own to determine a live weight price. Last years carcass weights ranged from 170-205 #, can provide them smaller if we know about it ahead of time. This is first come first serve. Any not spoken for by December 1st will be advertised on Craigs List at a substantial markup. I have contacted Milligans House of Meats, Jeffs Market in Polk, and Henderson Meat Processors about processing. The Cordova Locker is already booked up for the time frame we are looking at. St. Paul’s Fall Bazaar will be held on Sunday, November 16th, from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. We will be serving soups and cinnamon rolls, along with hosting a bake sale. If interested in a craft or home-based business booth space, contact Carrie Gumaer (534-2127). Each family will be asked to bring TWO baked sale items for the bazaar. Look for a work schedule in an upcoming newsletter. Thanks for helping with this event to support our kids’ school!
