St. Paul Lutheran church is located in Utica, Nebraska, along highway 34 about 35 miles west of Lincoln, between York and Seward. We are a growing congregation that has been said to be very friendly and caring. Our average worship service attendance is 320. We worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Our new church facility was dedicated to the Glory of God on June 1, 2003.
We are affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, meaning that we are part of a group of 6,000 Lutheran congregations located around the nation and world whose International Headquarters are located in St. Louis, Missouri. See Who Are Lutherans.
Our worship style, which includes a lot of music and singing, is often “liturgical,” following the worship form handed down from the early Christian church. It is also, however, expressed in contemporary styles as well. We have a Contemporary Service on the 4th Sunday of the month which is led by guitars, piano, percussion and song leaders. With our new sanctuary, we installed a multi-media center so our worship can be enhanced by using rear projection screens for the order of service and visuals during the sermon. In addition, our sanctuary is completely wheel chair accessible and there are hearing devices available for the hearing impaired.
