This has been an interesting week with an extra day off school. Due to the short week only one spelling test was given and the students fulfilled Tuesday’s memory requirements on Wednesday. Hopefully we are back to our normal routine.

Thank you for the donations that were made for Haiti. As of today our
class has collected $57.49. We pray that Grandpa Markle has a
safe trip to Haiti. May God bless him on this mission trip.

Tomorrow Meg will be our classroom representative at the Seward County Spelling Contest. We hope you have a fun experience, Meg. Enjoy!

Our class sings at St. Paul on Sunday. Students are to report to our classroom at 8:40 a.m. for warm-up. Thanks to all who can make it and I also thank those who let me know that they were unable to attend so I can plan accordingly.

Reading Classic members are reminded to keep reading the books on our Reading Classic list. I will check with parents about possible practice times at Parent/Teacher Conferences in February. The Reading Classic competition will be on Saturday, March 23rd at Seward Elementary School.
Our registration will be at 8 a.m.

Mrs. Hans will be arranging the Parent/Teacher conference schedule. If something happens and you need a different time for conferences, contact me and we can arrange a time that works for you. I look forward to visiting with you about your child’s progress.

Scholastic book orders were sent home with the students on Thursday. Any on-line or paper form orders are due on Friday, February 1st. Thanks.

Next week the Valentine Party Committee will meet to plan our party which will be on Thursday, February 14th. Our committee members are Jordan, Trinity, Nick, and Gavin. Your student will check with you to see if you can make a food/beverage donation to our party.

Our class will present chapel on Wednesday, February 6th. We are working on our chapel presentation so we will rotate the afternoon classes that are replaced by our practice. It is an important skill for the students to get used to presenting in front of an audience. Just another form of learning. 🙂 We hope you will be able to join us on that day for our chapel.

Have a Blessed weekend. – Mrs. Luce
